Just Getting Settled

This is a fast recap of the first couple of weeks we have been in New Zealand.

We hit the ground after crossing the Pacific. After 13 hours of inflight movies, semi tasty airplane food, and uncomfortable sleep, we made it safe and sound. We were put up in a hotel in Newmarket by Denise's company for the first week. Newmarket is the high end shopping district of Auckland full of clothing boutiques and far too many restaurants to count. Perfect for getting our feet wet in Auckland NZ. It happened to be 10 steps away from Denise's office building as well.

We made short work of our apartment search in that first week and scored a sweet apartment.
style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 10px 10px 10px 10px;It is actually a 1 bedroom flat in the nicest suburb of Auckland called Remuera. Our landlords are extremely nice and helpfull, and have given us full access to their pool, hot tub, and little natural reserve they have created in their back yard. So far it seems like we are at a resort.

We also found a flash ride to get us around the NZ. When I say flash, I mean it has seats and a steering wheel. It is our little "Red Rocket." Officially it is a 1985 Honda Civic Shuttle. I can sence your jealousy, and I highly recommend getting one if in fact there is another that exists on the planet. In all seriousness though, it is a sweet ride, and the price was right! I actually saw a pair of hiking boots in an outdoors store that were selling for more than I paid for the Red Rocket. Try to put that into perspective!
