Land of the Long White Cloud

Aotearoa, the Maori name for New Zealand, translates into the Land of the Long White Cloud. We arrived in New Zealand on the 18th of May with clothes on our back, and the clothes in or 8 suitcases. We don't travel light. But considerig the amount of junk we left back in the States, we did quite well to narrow down the possessions we could not live without on our one year adventure in New Zealand.

We are settling in to our new environment with unbelievable ease. All of the anticipation and anxiety of moving to the other side of the globe faded away once we discovered the beauty of the contryside. We quickly found an wonderful apartment, cheap (reliable?) car, and a few new friends as well.

There are far too many words to discribe New Zealand. Too many to list or maybe just not enough description words that can do this place justice; however, my two favorite ways to descibe New Zealand at this point are beautiful and comfortable. I will let our photos describe the rest.

Anyway, our goal of this little web thingy is to document our adventures on the Land of the Long White Cloud and post images seen through our eyes. I'll try to keep the text short and the pictures plentiful. Give the people what they want and they will come back for more, right? So, I hope everyone keeps tabs on us by checking our site as much as they can to keep in touch.

Enjoy
